Richmond County Busted Mugshots is a private reference site, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody, arrange a release, post bond, or retrieve an official booking record. Contact the government office that controls the particular record or case.

Official Richmond County Contact Routes

Richmond County is Staten Island, and its criminal arrest and custody channels are city systems. NYPD is the arrest-record channel. NYC DOC handles current city custody after a person is committed to that system. The city Sheriff is a civil-enforcement office, not the channel for a recent criminal arrest or a booking photograph.

NYPD arrest records and FOIL

Submit a written request through NYC OpenRecords and select NYPD. The NYPD Records Access Officer, Lt. Cynthia Acerra, is in the Legal Bureau FOIL Unit, One Police Plaza, Room 110-A, New York, NY 10038. The published telephone number is (646) 610-5296. In-person appointments are arranged by phone for weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., excluding holidays.

NYC DOC current custody and records

For an individual believed to be in city custody, start with the NYC DOC Incarcerated Person Lookup or call 311. DOC records requests may be submitted through NYC OpenRecords by selecting DOC. The DOC Legal Division, Records Access Officer, is at 75-20 Astoria Boulevard, Suite 305, East Elmhurst, NY 11370. Weekday inspection and copying appointments are generally available from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Richmond Criminal Court

For a court case, arraignment information, disposition, or a question about a person's own warrant status, use Richmond Criminal Court at 26 Central Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10301. The general information number is (718) 675-8558, and the clerk number is (646) 264-1330. Court staff or a defense lawyer is the appropriate source for a case-specific warrant question.

New York City Sheriff, civil matters only

The Office of the Sheriff, Staten Island Business Center, is at 350 St. Marks Place, Room 409, Staten Island, NY 10301, with telephone (718) 815-8407. Published hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding public holidays. This office handles city-sheriff civil matters and is not the criminal arrest-records channel.

The record type determines the next step. Use the appropriate official route below rather than relying on an unofficial result.

  • For NYPD arrest records or a request for an existing arrest photograph, use the NYPD FOIL route described on the Richmond County records reference.
  • For current NYC DOC custody or release notification, use the DOC lookup, 311, or the documented DOC release-information services.
  • For a court disposition or a personal warrant concern, use Richmond Criminal Court or qualified counsel. The Most Wanted page explains why a public wanted page is not a complete warrant search.
  • For a person in state prison, use the official DOCCS Incarcerated Individual Lookup, which is separate from NYPD and NYC DOC custody.
  • For possible federal or immigration custody, use the official Bureau of Prisons locator or ICE Online Detainee Locator.
